What It Does

Two-way sync between Shopify and Cosmo:
  • Products automatically sync to Cosmo
  • Inventory updates in real-time
  • Orders placed via chat create in Shopify
  • Order updates notify customers automatically

Setup

Go to Settings

Navigate to SettingsIntegrations in Cosmo

Click Shopify

Select Shopify integration card

Enter Store URL

Your Shopify domain (e.g., mystore.myshopify.com)

Authorize

Grant permissions for products, inventory, and orders

Wait for Sync

Products sync automatically (10-15 minutes for first sync)
After first sync, products and inventory update every 15 minutes automatically.

What Syncs

From Shopify to Cosmo

  • Products: Name, description, price, images
  • Variants: Size, color, style options
  • Inventory: Real-time stock levels
  • Categories: Collections and product types
  • Status: Active, draft, archived

From Cosmo to Shopify

  • Orders: Customer, items, totals
  • Customer info: Name, phone, address
  • Order status: Fulfillment and shipping updates

How Customers Shop

  1. Browse: “Show me your products”
  2. Search: “Do you have blue sneakers?”
  3. Ask questions: “Is this in stock in size 10?”
  4. Purchase: “I’ll take 2 of these”
  5. Track: “Where’s my order?” (auto-provides tracking)
Cosmo sends product images, prices, and buy buttons automatically when customers ask.

Order Management

Orders placed via chat:
  • ✅ Automatically created in Shopify
  • ✅ Show in Shopify Orders dashboard
  • ✅ Process fulfillment normally in Shopify
  • ✅ Customer gets automatic updates via WhatsApp/Instagram

Sync Frequency

  • Products: Every 15 minutes
  • Inventory: Every 5 minutes
  • Orders: Instant (real-time)
  • Manual sync: Click “Sync Now” in Settings

Requirements

Shopify Plan

  • Any paid Shopify plan (Basic, Shopify, Advanced, Plus)
  • Shopify Lite not supported (no storefront API)

Permissions Needed

Cosmo needs access to:
  • Read products
  • Read and write inventory
  • Read and write orders
  • Read customer data

  • Verify Shopify connection in Settings
  • Check products are published (not drafts)
  • Wait 15 minutes for auto-sync
  • Try manual sync

Order Issues

Orders not creating in Shopify?
  • Check order write permissions
  • Verify products exist and are active
  • Review API connection status
  • Check Shopify status page

Inventory Issues

Inventory not updating?
  • Confirm inventory tracking enabled in Shopify
  • Check Shopify locations are configured
  • Wait 5-10 minutes for sync
